SIGCHI SmartKit
SIGCHI (Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction) is a facilitator for professionals in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The group helps to organize and coordinate information through online services, traditional publications, local chapters and conferences.
The goal of the project was to increase SIGCHI's value among the HCI community and augment their motivation for a larger participation. My focus was to make its expertise more visible and accessible for the community. I worked with two other students in the initial research phase and worked individually from the concept development through the final design.
SIGCHI SmartKit consisted of the following systems:
1. CHIonline System
The system connected the HCI community across time and geography by providing vehicles of communication and motivation for participation.
2. ConferEx System
The system facilitated CHI officers' management of the conference related tasks. For conference attendees the system allowed them to tailor their schedule according to their needs and preferences.
